Domain Mail on Plesk - MX on Cloudflare Routing issue

Hi,
My mail server domain stopped receiving email since yesterday.
My registrar is godaddy Name server is Cloudflare.
Everything was working fine until this AM.
Nothing has changed server setting wise.
I can send email from UCLA domain and I receive the email.

dmarc data-sleek .com The record is not valid
blacklist mail.data-sleek .com Blacklisted by UCEPROTECTL3
mx data-sleek .com DMARC Quarantine/Reject policy not enabled
dns data-sleek .com SOA Serial Number Format is Invalid
dns data-sleek .com SOA Expire Value out of recommended range
smtp mail.data-sleek .com Reverse DNS Resolution - No PTR Record found

Hi @Datasleek, I am not certain what troubleshooting steps you’ve taken, but the suggestions in this #tutorials, Email Troubleshooting are designed to address the issue you describe.

Let us know if that helps & how it’s going.

I see that the ‘mail’ hostname in your domain is a direct connection.

Are you saying that your server does receive email?

For mail you don’t receive, is it being bounced back to the sender?

@sdayman
Mail is not being bounced and the mail queue on my mail server is empty. That’s why it is not easy to debug. I don’t have enough expertise in DNS management. It’s been working fine for 6 months when I was using my own DNS server and was using CloudFlare for mostly the web.
I just need help setting up the dns properly in Cloudflare

@cloonan ,
Thank you for referring the video. I have checked and my records matches the recommendation.
I did enter “@” for the name for MX record and it replaced it data-sleek.com (see attached)

None of that is related to receiving email. And you didn’t answer my question:

Give this a try to watch how your mail server receives email:

@sdayman , I use mailgun for SMTP
Here is the test

Ah, not to Mailgun. To your own domain at the .251 address.

@sdayman ,

I don’t use my domain to send email, I use mailgun for SMTP.
However, here is the test result.

I’m getting emails from [email protected] to [email protected]
Email from Gmail are also coming though.
Not sure why others are not working.

You should probably start checking Plesk forums, as Cloudflare is not involved in this connection.

@sdayman ,
Yes I have a feeling the issue might be there too.
Quick question. Do I need to have MailGun related DNS entry in Cloudflare DNS? Since my mail client uses smtp.mailgun.org I’m not sure why I would need these extra entry?

Kind a lot and a bit of strange records you have got here.

So, you aren’t able to send emails from your origin or from Mailgun service?

Have you checked with Mailgun documentation already?:

Also, maybe for the CNAME record, you would just need to make sure that the status is configured as ‘DNS Only’ (:grey: cloud)
