Domain is not attached

Good afternoon, I added a domain and updated NS addresses to ariadne.ns.cloudflare.com and logan.ns.cloudflare.com - 3 days ago.

However, Cloudflare still doesn’t want to add the site. Checking through https://cf.sjr.org.uk/tools/check?49ec27c74ae044bab6ec688b4103d1c5 shows some extra NS entry from kevin.quicns.cloud, which is nowhere to be seen at all except through cfsjr.

I contacted domain support and was told that the records are configured correctly and everything should work Dig web interface - online dns lookup tool.

But nothing is working.

As I mentioned in your earlier post, although you have set the domains at the registrar, the registry has that extra nameserver due to some hiccup somehow. You need to contact Godaddy, explain, and ask them to fix it. (Or maybe, set the default Godaddy nameservers back at Godaddy, wait a little while, then change them back to the Cloudflare nameservers to see if that will force out the extra nameserver).

You can see the extra nameserver outside of my tool by doing a DNS trace…

I tried switching servers 5-6 days ago. Switched them back to standard and then after about 3 minutes I switched them back to cloudflare. Then similarly nothing happened. All in all some very strange situation.

That may be too short. When you set nameservers at Godaddy they will have some form of job queued to update the nameservers at the registry which may be from instant to some time later, then the registry has to deploy to their DNS. I would suggest change the nameservers again, wait for them to deploy (use my tool or dig +trace to see when it is done) to check and see if the extra nameserver has gone and it is showing the “dummy” nameservers. Only then change back to the Cloudflare nameservers.

If the extra nameserver sticks around you are going to have to push Godaddy to fix it.

I have set the default NS now, after 48 hours I will change them again and get back to you with an answer.

It has changed in the last few minutes, and that rogue nameserver is still there. I would get on to Godaddy…
