I too am unable to renew my domain. The problem is that every time I try to pay, I just get an “Internal server error”. I cannot update my payment method too - same error. Neither Credit Card nor PayPal are working. I raised an urgent ticket (01315667) nearly a month ago on 2024-12-16. All I got up until now are automated responses. I looked through the community issues and found that I am not the only one. Even the Cloudflare status page shows an investigation that has been open since October last year. Pretty damn long for payment issues. The community can surely not help here directly, but in some cases, the issue was escalated to the actual Cloudflare support. So, I take my chances here.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I tried to update my billing information several times. Used both PayPal and Credit Card. Did this at home and on a mobile connection (to eliminate any issue with my home network blocking something). Used different devices for this altogether. Raised a ticket a couple of weeks ago.

My domain has now expired. Even escalating the ticket didn’t help. Cloudflare support just ignored me to the bitter end.

After experiation, domains go into a redemption period, as it’s a Cloudflare Registrar domain, the team should be able to ensure it’s not lost. Really sorry for the issues and stress with this.

Just to keep you updated on how this plays out: I actually received an answer to the ticket, but it’s more like “we are on the case” instead of a much more helpful “we solved it”. That answer is now eight days old. Still, I cannot renew my expired domain.
