I know that pausing cloudflare will stop its proxy service facilities like SSL,WAF etc, keeping only DNS active. But I wanted to specifically know if pausing it also causes stopping of DDos protection?
Yes. Temporarily pausing Cloudflare sends all traffic directly to your server’s IP address, putting Cloudflare into DNS-Only mode.
Isn’t anti-DDoS is a DNS feature, separate from its proxy security features?
People won’t be able to DDoS the DNS server (something.ns.cloudflare.com) for your domain, but your website will be completely unprotected. They can hit 184.108.40.206 or some other public DNS resolver to get your website’s IP address, then hammer away at it.
Thanks for the logical answer
