Does pausing DNS Proxy also put site into development mode?

In my agencies workflow, we frequently use subdomains for Staging and development sites. Some of my teammates seem to think that turning off the DNS proxy for the subdomain will also disable all the other Cloudflare features, i.e., put it into development mode. That doesn’t seem right to me, but I’m no Cloudflare expert.

Anyone have any evidence one way or another?

It will.

DNS only means Cloudflare isn’t really involved at all other than DNS - you connect directly with the origin.

thanks @KianNH. I can understand how that might make sense from a technical standpoint. I just haven’t been able to find any official documentation clarifying it as such.

Here is the relevant documentation.

brilliant. Thank you Epic Network.
