If you are seeing a message about using the Cloudflare proxy with Shopify, you can ignore it. Many people are getting the same message which is a false alarm.
You can use Cloudflare with Shopify using unproxied (“DNS only”) records, or, after contacting support to enable O2O for Shopify, with proxied records…
Shopify it seems then are using scare tactics telling me that my website may not work if I use Cloudflare, and that they do not support it. This is what they said:
Using Cloudflare to proxy your website can lead to several issues with Shopify, including:
Connectivity Problems: Shopify does not support third-party proxies like Cloudflare. This can interfere with your store’s connectivity and lead to unexpected behavior or service disruptions
SSL Certificate Issues: If your domain is using a Cloudflare Proxy, it may not permit Shopify’s Certificate Authorities to provision SSL certificates, which can affect your store’s security
CNAME Record Issues: If your CNAME record is not set correctly, it can prevent your domain from mapping correctly to your Shopify store
Potential Data Loss: Shopify is not responsible for any loss of data or store outages due to unsupported configurations, which includes using Cloudflare as a proxy
Ok thanks, I will leave it enabled then. But they were very insistent that I “Remove the cloudflare and disable DNSSEC”. They were saying it will break my website. It is not very professional of them in my opinion.
