Do I need to pay network traffic fees if using Cloudflare with Google Cloud

I have a question about using Cloudflare with Google Cloud.

Google Cloud does support a “CDN Interconnect” feature (, which says all egress traffic between CDN and Google Cloud is free as long as the CDN node is within the same region of Google Cloud VM instances. ( The ingress traffic of Google cloud is always free)

So, If I host a website in a Google Cloud VM instance, and setup Cloudflare for it, I wouldn’t need to pay any traffic fees in Google Cloud. Is it right?

Where are you seeing free egress in that link? I always thought the pricing was reduced, but not free, and I can’t see anything in your link that contradicts that.
