Do I have to host my dns zones with Cloudflare in order to use redirection services?

Good afternoon.

Have tried searching but can’t find an answer to my query:

One of my domains is registered and has its dns zones hosted at a local provider.

If I wish to make use of any redirection services that Cloudflare offers (say I wish to redirect clients from “example.com” to “www.example.com”, do I have to have the “example.com” domain registered with Cloudflare or do I have to have the dns zones for “example.com” hosted at Cloudflare?

Can I leave the domain and zones where they currently are registered and hosted and make use of Cloudflare redirection services by just signing up for such services with Cloudflare?

Thanks in advance.

Tom.

Except for the higher level plans you will always need to point the entire domain to Cloudflare’s nameservers and can then configure the applicable options.
