DNS Validation Error (Code: 1004): Invalid TTL. Must be between 120 and 2,147,483,647 seconds, or 1 for automatic (Code: 9021)

Trying to activate CNAME records and getting this error:

DNS Validation Error (Code: 1004): Invalid TTL. Must be between 120 and 2,147,483,647 seconds, or 1 for automatic (Code: 9021)

I have tried changing the value in the drop-down menu but it keeps giving error.

That should work. I tested it as well. Have you tried setting TTL to 5?

#3

Just tried 5 min and 5 hours, got same error.

I’m using GoDaddy for domain and hosting if that matters.

#4

I would probably recommend contacting support, that seems like a backend or UI error…

#5

How do I contact support? The forum is the only link I could find for support.

#6

https://support.cloudflare.com/hc

There is a link in the dashboard as well. You log in with your Cloudflare account and submit a request. The time to have a response will vary depending on your plan level.

#7

I fixed it by deleting g the CNAME entry and creating a new one.

Should I do that for the rest of the DNS entries that have the information icon next to them?

#8

I don’t think so, hover over the icons and read the message.

#9

Same issue as Cloudflare DNS on Mobile can’t make changes

#10

It sounds like I should turn it on?

But then again, shouldn’t they all be on? Why not turn them all on?

#11

Because it depends what you need to do: maybe you need to connect to them via a non supported port (there are many, https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200169156-Which-ports-will-Cloudflare-work-with-), maybe with a non HTTP(S) protocol, maybe you need to upload data above the maximum Cloudflare allows.

There could be many possible reasons, you should maybe try and then revert back in case something fails.
