DNS Setup for Atlassian Jira Issue

What is the name of the domain?

What is the issue you’re encountering

I am trying to add the DNS records provided by Jira to setup up my email for my domain. The domain has already been added to Jira and authenticated. When I add the records to Cloudflare, Jira is not able to authenticate the records. I read other support articles and community posts that stated to change the TTL to 1 day which I did. It has been several days and the records are still not resolved. I did a DNS lookup and I see that the CNAME records that are in my Cloudflare account are not even searchable in a public DNS lookup. I am really not sure what to do at this point to resolve this.

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

DNS records

Make sure the CNAMEs are set to “DNS only” and not “Proxied” (I guess they are as you are changing the TTL).

Can you give the records you are trying to set or show a screenshot of your Cloudflare DNS records?

Also your _dmarc and _dkim records are delegated to namebrightdns.com nameservers. If you want to create those records in your Cloudflare DNS you will need to remove the NS records for _dmarc and _dkim.

Thanks, @sjr for the quick response. Here are screenshots of the records provided by Jira and what I have configured in Cloudflare.

Everything looks right to me so I am really scratching my head on this one.

Also, I removed the NS, _dmarc, and _dkim records from Cloudflare. Really appreciate you calling that out, that was great!

From your screenshot, only the top two DKIM records couldn’t be found. Now you’ve removed the delegation these resolve ok…

I should of course said _dmarc and _domainkey.

So is there anything else I need to do or will these records eventually show up on the Jira side? Really appreciate your help!

All should be done as far as I can see.
