The DNS records are set to proxy, however when I ping the domain, all results still point to my original server IP, is that normal? How should I solve this?
Do you have Cloudflare paused by chance? Has it ever worked?

Yes I had Cloudflare paused, but according to the information on the dashboard, DNS should be resolved during the pause:
Or am I misunderstanding it?
DNS is resolved… to the origin.
