DNS Redirection Help

Hi there,

I have registered a domain, almontetennisclub.com, with Cloudflare, and I’m hoping to get visitors who visit that URL to get redirected to clubspark.ca/almonte. I’m a DNS newb so would appreciate any suggestions on the best way to proceed.

Thanks!

Greetings,

Thank you for asking.

Kindly, make sure to double-check if you’ve got your domain name (zone) added under your Cloudflare account by navigating to the Cloudflare dashboard → Websites via the link https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone.

Furthermore, click on your zone to edit settings.
Navigate to the DNS tab at Cloudflare dashboard via the link https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/dns.
If there is none DNS record, please follow the steps from article below to add the two DNS records as follows the:

  1. A www pointed to the 192.0.2.1 and :orange: (proxied)
  2. A almontetennisclub.com pointed to the 192.0.2.1 and :orange: (proxied)

Helpful step-by-step instructions are in the article from below:

After you’ve created those DNS records, you should navigate to the Rules tab → Page Rules at Cloudflare dashboard via the link https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/rules.

Click on the button “Create Page Rule”.
In the “URL” field type: *almontetennisclub.com/*
For “Then the settings are”, select “Forwarding URL” and “301 - Permanent Redirect” from the dropdown menus.
In the “Enter destination URL” type your URL.
Click on the button “Save and Deploy Page Rule”.

In picture, the end result should look like below example:

Wait for some minutes for the changes to apply.

Please feel free to write back with questions and feedback information for further troubleshooting or help
