Should I manually copy & paste all my current DNS records (A, CNAME, MX, TXT…) to Cloudflare before changing the DNS server?
Cloudflare scans your current settings for the most common records like @, www, mail sind so on. All you need is to verify that nothing is missing.
All of the records should exist in Cloudflare prior to changing your nameservers. Copy and paste is one option, there is also an advanced option on the DNS page to import a BIND file which is a standard format for representing DNS entries.
I’ve done it in a dumb way by typing them manually. But everything worked fine. Thanks!
Lots of times that is faster and easier with a single domain. If you have to import 1,000 domains, a BIND file is better (or delegate the typing to an intern).
