What is the issue you’re encountering

NS have been updated successfully and now our domain should be behind Cloudflare but the DNS that we configured in Cloudflare are not propogating to the world for many hours already

As long as it is proxied, it will always resolve to the proxies → General FAQ · Cloudflare DNS docs

If you are unsure about the IP addresses, pause Cloudflare and clarify them with your host and make sure that your site loads fine on HTTPS without Cloudflare first.
