DNS records are being cut off at the end

What is the name of the domain?

smartspeakers.co.za

What is the error message?

‘Expected CNAME to match’

What is the isssue you’re encountering

My DNS records are being cut off when saving them to cloudflare. Then, when verifying that I’ve added them from Sendgrid to Cloudflare, it insists that the records do not match.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I’ve tried saving the files with ‘.@’ at the end of the name, to ensure the ‘.smartspeakers.co.za’ remains at the end of the cname, when adding the records.

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

DNS records

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Copy the files from SendGrid to Cloudflare and verify that you’ve added them.

When entering records into the Cloudflare DNS, enter only the subdomain (or use just @ for the apex domain). If you enter the domain as well, Cloudflare will remove it to prevent you from creating www.example.com.example.com by mistake.

Make sure any CNAMEs you enter that need to be verified by a third party are set to “DNS only” and not “proxied”.
