DNS only record update not propagating +48 hours later
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
An update was made to the domain’s sole A record, to change the IPv4 address it points to. But no changes have been observed well over 48 hours later.
I have run dig @1.1.1.1 shooka95k.com and still see the old IP address (starting with 80.x.x.x)
I am using cloudflare Nameservers, but one thing I noticed that seems strange is that my NS records for the domain (dig @1.1.1.1 -t ns shooka95k.com) report javon and luciana instead of macy and remy, which I see on my dashboard. Perhaps that’s related?
What feature, service or problem is this related to?
I would double check the account that you logged in to Cloudflare with, such as e.g. by looking in your emails.
Sometimes what you’re explaining is happening when you have multiple Cloudflare accounts, such as e.g. by (accidentally) registering both “[email protected]”, “[email protected]” and/or “[email protected]”, and then you’re ending up on logging in to the wrong account.
The domain name is active under the Cloudflare account that has “JAVON” and “LUCIANA”.
Because the account you’re trying to make the changes from doesn’t have them, it means that the account isn’t authoritative for your domain, and changes you’re attempting to make there, won’t ever propagate.
thanks a lot, the problem was exactly the Cloudflare accounts, I had the same domain under two different accounts, and don’t know how that happened! I could edit and change the settings but under one of them, no action took place.
