sounds like im locked out then, I dont have anyone else that would have done it. Except for maybe during the renewal with namecheap selected cloudflare. I need to get back into this and add a record. I do not know anyone else that could or would have done this. What is the best way to go about adding the txt record?
You can’t add a TXT record as you don’t have access to the account.
Options are:
- add the domain to your new “empty” Cloudflare account and change the nameservers to those required to do that - you may lose existing DNS records so this could break stuff if you don’t know what they are and you need access to your Namecheap account.
- change the nameservers to Namecheap and use their DNS - same caveat applies.
Do either of those at your own risk. If you lose access to your site, don’t blame me!
I need to schedule a phone call with you guys, how can that be done? iv tried calling before the weekend and you guys state you provide phone calls for domain related issues. How can we schedule a call?
I’m not sure who you called, but no one participating in this discussion is employed Cloudflare. Cloudflare only offers phone support on Enterprise agreements, and even then, only in emergencies.
It’s easy enough to identify my firm from my profile.
Im not going to go about this unless I know for sure what the expected workflow is. As it is, I did not ask for this change. Would it be easier just to switch both domains to a namecheap alternative?
Unless your Namecheap DNS already has the required records, both options have identical difficulty and risk.
