One of the CNAME is not getting Verified at my Substack Account. CNAME = newsletter, Targetted to targetsubstack-custom-domainscom. As per Substack DNS proxy hasn’t been Switched Off but i see its Off at my end. As a result of this my url newsletterconsultantmanpreetcom is showing 403 Forbidden Error. Could you check what is wrong! Thanks in Advance!

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

DNS records

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

I tried deleting the CNAME and adding it again and made sure DNS proxy was Off but my CNAME newsletter.consultantmanpreetcom shows 403 Forbidden Error. As per Substack Team its due to DNS proxy not being properly Shut off.

Screenshot of the error

Your Cloudflare DNS looks fine, per Substack’s documentation.

And a DNS lookup shows the newsletter.consultantmanpreet.com resolving to the CNAME target target.substack-custom-domains.com.

The rest is up to the provider at the CNAME target (Substack), and that’s where you should direct any support requests.

NB: I’m seeing a redirect loop now: ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS. I’ll recommend waiting for a while (the Substack documentation says up to 36 hours), and if this still doesn’t work, then contact Substack for help.
