DNS propagation from cloudflare

I have a DNS domain set up with Cloudflare with appropriate Cloudflare authoritative name servers.
I only have a single A record at the moment.
The dns lookup works perfectly unless that ip address need to be changed.
If I change the ip address for that a record but it will not propagate. It will not even correctly resolve on 1.1.1.1

Your TTL should be set to about 5 minutes. Especially if that DNS entry is set to :orange:. You can also purge the 1.1.1.1 cache at https://1.1.1.1/purge-cache/

Thanks but i cant set the TTL, the only option is automatic.
