DNS Progpagation

Hi,

I want to know the status of the DNS propagation? Where could I see it.

Thank you.

When you deploy a firewall rule, you’ll see a blue dot while it’s being propagated.

As you can see it generally takes 10 seconds or less.

The mechanism for firewall propagation and DNS propagation is the same, the only difference is that the “currently being propagated” dot isn’t part of the DNS page (yet?). You should see your changes show up within 10-30 seconds at every CF datacenter.

Hi Mr. Judge,

Thank you for your answer.

Can I use this one to see if the DNS is propagated? https://www.whatsmydns.net

If you use the Cloudflare CDN/SSL/proxy (the dns record is orange clouded :orange:), then the actual DNS records for your domain won’t change. only Cloudflare’s datacenters will be updated with the new record information.

If you set the DNS record to the grey cloud :grey: (which will disable every CF feature like CDN, SSL, etc) then you can use a website like that to test the speed of propagation.
