DNS probe finished NXS Domain

Hey all! This is my first post here so I hope I’m in the right category.

We are rerouting our nameservers through Cloudflare for a couple months now.

We haven’t changed anything on the DNS settings, but somehow at the end of last week we received errors when visiting our website + our emails stopped working.

When visiting the website it says the following error: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

Also when we tried to send emails it gives error, such as that the domain is not found.

It’s very strange since we didn’t change anything, and the DNS settings were set correctly (to the best of my knowledge). I had to set it back to the DNS settings of our hosting provider but would love to still be able to use Cloudflare… Could anyone help me out here please?

My guess, your domain expired or was suspended. You’d need to contact your registrar in that case.

Of course, if you had posted the domain we could have had already established that :wink:

The domain didn’t expire though, that’s the strange part. My registrar did say that I never verified the email address for registering the domain(?), which is now the case.

Currently it’s set back to the name servers of the registrar. I set them back to the ones from Cloudflare earlier today but after some time the domain error prompted again.

P.S. the whole time it said on Cloudflare that the domain is active, as if there were no issues.

Seems it should work on Cloudflare too, at least the Cloudflare nameservers do return the same address.

Possibly a DNSSEC issue. Did you make sure you set the right values?

Which values are you referring to? Then I’ll check it right away, thank you!

I’d suggest you disable it on your registrar side, move the nameservers back, and then check if you have any issues.

Though it would appear as if it was not enabled right now.

I’d move the nameservers back to Cloudflare and check for any issues.

Thanks! I also read that the registrar is not supporting DNSSEC (and DKIM and DANE) for any external name servers.

I’ll set the name servers back to those from Cloudflare, hopefully things will go well this time :slight_smile:

Nameservers changed and it still works fine.
