May I ask if you have got an A type DNS record under the DNS tab of Cloudflare dashboard pointed to your origin host/server for @ (simonfruehauf.com)?

I cannot find any for simonfruehauf.com neither for www.simonfruehauf.com:

;QUESTION
simonfruehauf.com. IN A
;ANSWER
Record not found!

Helpful article how to add them if they’re missing (possibly if you recently added your domain name to your Cloudflare account and for some reason automatic DNS scan failed to find them):

Are you using tunnel for your root (main) domain (simonfruehauf.com) as well?

Theoretically, it should open a wordpress blog.

I don’t have an a type DNS record, nor a CNAME dns record - the article would be helpful if i knew what i would have to have as a target for the CNAME record…

I am not using a tunnle for my root domain, only for the subdomain.

And where is this Wordpress blog hosted?

Good question… I know that the domain is from checkdomain net, and i know i have a cpanel access on my domain, but I do not know exactly how it is hosted - my university provided it. I am unsure how to figure that out, either.

How do you currently access the blog?

At the moment, not at all anymore, since it does not open the website… cpanel dot simonfruehauf, or simonfruehauf dot com / wp-admin originally

It looks like you want to create 2 A records to the IP XXX (removed), with names cpanel and @.

At least, that’s the IP you have been using in the past and it still has a valid certificate for your domain.

That worked! Can you tell me how you found out that IP adress?

I looked your site up on https://dnshistory.org/

I stand corrected, it works for the root domain, but the sub-domains (e.g. website/wp-admin) does not work.

Specifically, with a too many redirects error.

ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS usually means that you are using the Flexible SSL setting on Cloudflare.

Change that to Full (strict).
