DNS over TLS versus 1.1.1.1

I am in doubt to have taken the right approach to activate “DNS over TLS” on my FritzBox.
Two options from by understanding:

  1. Using in my case for DNSv4-Server “1.1.1.1”
  2. Activiate DNS over TLS (DoT) by adding in the DNS Server field “one.one.one.one”
    I took 2. and can use internet access as before - but I am note sure to have taken the best solution.
    Pleas can you support?

To my knowledge, you should do both. At least that’s what the manual says and what I did.
