DNS only records are exposing IPs that are proxied through Cloudflare

Hello,

Like others, I’m seeing this error message:

“Some of your DNS only records are exposing IPs that are proxied through Cloudflare. Make sure to proxy all A, AAAA, and CNAME records pointing to proxied records to avoid exposing your origin IP.”

Under SIP, I’m seeing:
This record exposes the IP behind sip.example.com which you have proxied through Cloudflare.”

How do I fix that? Do I need to?

Thank you in advance

SIP is not HTTP/S traffic, so you can’t fix that. You’re seeing a standard message if you host another service in addition to your website on the same server.

Thank you for your response.
I appreciate your help.

My domain is registered with namecheap but Microsoft looks after mail and groovepages is where I’m pointing the domain.

But I’m not clear what you mean about another service.
What kind of service do you mean?

In any case, do I need to do anything about it?

Thanks again.

No.

Some people run email and web server on the same server. In that case, the MX record points directly at their web server IP address, and cannot be hidden and protected by Cloudflare. As you are using a service provider for email etc., this is not a problem for you.
