have a new domain and not sure what I’ve done - which isn’t weird in and of itself, just wasn’t expecting the error 522 cloudflare
bought a domain, name servers pointed to cloudflare
in cloudflare added the domain and there’s two CNAME records, apex and www
they point to a cloudflare pages url, basic landing page
will search community just looking for obvious advice on thing I’m missing

When using CF Pages you need to assign a custom domain in the project. This in turn automatically creates the appropriate CNAME records. See documentation for correct procedure
many thanks, took out the custom domain from the project, and put it back again.
working as expected.
Poss. the www cname record was the reason.
