DNS not propogated for domain purchased on Cloudflare

I purchased a domain on Cloudflare on March 6, 2024 and it still hasn’t propogated in the United States. When using the website, DNS Checker - DNS Check Propagation Tool, it only shows Cloudflare nameservers in a few locations overseas. All locations in the United States return an x. I know they say it can take up to 3 days to propogate but I have never actually seen it take that long. Is there anything I need to do on the Cloudflare side to get it propogated?

Thank you.

Navigate to the site/domain in Cloudflare and go to the DNS app. What are the two nameservers you see there?

The two nameservers I see are GEORGE.NS.CLOUDFLARE.COM and LIA.NS.CLOUDFLARE.COM

As you purchased the domain from Cloudflare, it should be set up automatically. Seems the zone hasn’t been created in the DNS as there’s no SOA…

Try to create a DNS record here…

…and see if that forces it.

If not, then raise a Cloudflare Registrar ticket here…

Thank you for the information. I have 2 DNS records there I created soon after I purchased the domain. An A record that points to SiteGround web server where the website will be and a CNAME record for www. Is there another type of record I should have?

Thank you.

I forgot to add I am unable to submit a ticket since I am on a free plan. I would have to pay $25 for one month in order to submit a ticket. I’ll do it if I have to but since I feel this is an issue with Cloudflare after purchasing the domain from them and nothing I have done wrong I’m really trying not to do that.

Free accounts can raise account, billing and registrar tickets. Ensure to select “Cloudflare Registrar” from the options.

Thank you for that information!! I will do that right now.

Thank you!

Unfortunately, Cloudflare has yet to look into the issue and the ticket bot marked it “Resolved” twice without a human looking at it. I had to reply to the bot email to keep it marked as “Open” so hopefully someone looks into it. Do you know of any other way to contact them without having to pay to get higher priority even though I marked it as urgent?

If post the ticket number here, a passing staff member may see it after the weekend.

Thank you for the advice.

Ticket #3177394

The ticket I submitted for this to be looked into ASAP as I am trying to get the website up quickly.

They answered my ticket and said the issue was I needed to enable DNSSEC for the domain. Once I enabled it the DNS propagated instantly and the website was accessible. Anyone who has this issue in the future with Cloudflare trying enabling DNSSEC to see if that fixes the problem to get the domain propagated. I’ve bought other domains from Cloudflare and never had to do that before. I asked them why I had to do it this time and I’m waiting back for the answer.

Hey @ashley5 thanks for sharing your results with us! We are glad you have figured out what was the problem!
