DNS not found after cancelling

What is the name of the domain?

emsnj.com

What is the error message?

DOMAIN_NOT_RESOLVED

What is the issue you’re encountering

I was in the middle of transferring the domain emsnj.com to cloudflare when I was asked to cancel the transfer to Cloudflare and try again in a few months.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

The domain was originally at Domain People so I went into the domain people account and updated the NS to the original name servers last night. It still showed Cloudflare NS this morning. I canceled the transfer and deleted emsnj.com from websites in my CF Account about 4 hours ago. Usually changing name servers resolves pretty quickly but the issue I am running into now is that when I check in MX Toolbox I get an error name servers not found and in DNS checker mostly red X’s and the ones that resolve have the IP for cloudflare.

Is there anyway to resolve this quickly? I have a client who is not receiving email because of this.

Thanks!!

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

Nameservers

Welcome to the Cloudflare Community. :logodrop:

When you view the DNS app in the Cloudflare dashboard, what are the assigned nameserver names shown?

Is DNSSEC enabled?

Thanks for responding, hopefully you can help!

The original nameservers were amir ns cloudflare com and deborah ns cloudflare com.

The problem is, I cancelled the transfer then deleted emsnj.com from my cloudflare account.

Before I deleted it, I updated the nameservers back to their original (ns1 netnation com and ns2 netnation com) at Domain People.

Now I am getting the following bounce back email error: DOMAIN_NOT_RESOLVED. The domain is also not showing up in the dns checker site.

Usually domain changes propagate quicker than this and I need to get it back to where it was so the clients email will work.

Thx - Rob

You should revist that task, because it does not appear to have completed successfully. I recommend reviewing nameservers configured at your domain registrar.

I called their tech support before posting here. Just called again and found out there was no log of me making changes to the NS. Their control panel may have been the issue as the tech re-added in the nameservers and it was logged into their system.

Hopefully this resolves in the next hour or so.

Thanks for the help!!!
