DNS issues with VallumAssociates.com (Office 365)

Hi There,

In dns managament I have a CNAME entry which has been there since the beginning,

autodiscover
autodiscover.outlook.com

But now when I want to add an office 365 email in outlook it doesn’t do it and it appears as it is not seeing this record when I check on test sites such as mxtoolbox? Can anyone help me, as I raised this with support but it got passed to here as they are experiencing a high number or calls :frowning:

Kieron

Is that CNAME record set to :orange: Proxied?

It was set to Proxied, I deleted that about 1 hour and half ago and set a new one up which is not proxied and set the TTL to 2 mins. Still nothing unfortunately?

The CNAME is there, so it’s not a DNS issue.

If you use a checker like network tools or whatsmydns you will see that it does not see any dns information for this domain? so although there is a correct dns entry it is not being seen by anyone. This does seem to be a cloudflare tech issue, but because they passed me onto here I had to create a ticket and try my luck

Done and done:

OK well that is good, it wasn’t showing that earlier. Here is some info from Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant which Microsoft told me to run:

  1. We got an unexpected autodiscover response.
We can see that your mailbox is in Office 365. However, AutoDiscover service seems to have

configuration issues that prevent Outlook to connect o Office 365. An intermediate web server at

https://vallumassociates.com/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml is interfering with AutoDiscover service

and responding with incomplete data.

Your administrator need to either remove or correct the

AutoDiscover component from https://vallumassociates.com/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml.

To work

around this issue if your administrator can’t resolve the above soon, please take the following

action:

Create an Outlook registry key to exclude the HTTPS root domain. For more information about

how to do this, see the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article: 2212902Important Excluding the

HTTPS root domain is not a long-term solution for this issue. This workaround is provided as

immediate relief for it. As soon as your administrator resolves the above AutoDiscover issue, the

Outlook registry key must be removed.
You need to either remove or correct the AutoDiscover component from

https://vallumassociates.com/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml. If

https://vallumassociates.com/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml is managed by a web hosting provider,

please contact them, and make sure that the web server is not responding to Autodiscover requests.
