What is the error number?

n/a

What is the error message?

DNS_PROBE_POSSIBLE

What is the issue you’re encountering

DNS address could not be found. Diagnosing the problem.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Issue Summary:

  • Consistent DNS issues when accessing ‘launchlemonade.app’ and ‘seojobs.com’ on initial load and at random times during the day. Encountering DNS probe errors daily on different attempts.
  • owner of seojobs.com told me they’re set up on Fastly
  • It appears that launchlemonade.app dynamically assigns different Ipv4s upon multiple nslookup runs.(84.32.84.105, 84.32.84.112, 147.79.119.24, 147.79.119.242, 193.58.105.228, 84.32.84.254)

Details:

  • Internet Connection: Hrvatski Telekom (HT) with router configured for DNS over TLS (DoT) using Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 servers. The nearest Cloudflare node is ZAG (Zagreb).

  • Symptom: First cold load of the day for both domains results in a DNS probe error. After reloading a couple of times, they work fine (but happens again later in the day). This issue is unique to these two domains; all other domains load quickly and without issue.

Current Ping Test Results:

  • ping launchlemonade.app fails with the message: Ping request could not find host launchlemonade.app. Please check the name and try again.
  • ping seojobs.com succeeds.

DNS Resolution Tests

Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1):

nslookup launchlemonade.app. 1.1.1.1 returns only an IPv6 address, no IPv4 resolution:

name: launchlemonade.app
Address: 2a02:4780:84:6ded:a667:874c:bd60:793

Google DNS (8.8.8.8)

nslookup launchlemonade.app. 8.8.8.8 resolves correctly to both IPv4 and IPv6

name: launchlemonade.app
Addresses: 2a02:4780:2a:ccc:e0d3:db56:c8dd:f8dd
193.58.105.201

then, after a few moments if i do it again:

Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1):

nslookup launchlemonade.app. 1.1.1.1 resolves correctly to both IPv4 and IPv6

name: launchlemonade.app
Address: 2a02:4780:84:6ded:a667:874c:bd60:793
84.32.84.105

Question:
Is this issue related to my ISP, Cloudflare’s DNS service, or possibly the hosting configuration of these specific domains? Any guidance on how to resolve this would be appreciated.

Thank you,

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

DNS not responding/updating

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

access ‘launchlemonade.app’ and ‘seojobs.com’ on initial load in the morning when i turn on the PC (we receive a new IP every morning)

Screenshot of the error

I’m too over ZAG :croatia: and it’s working for me over 1.1.1.1 DNS servers (including the Family ones).

Who’s your ISP / provider?

Are you connecting over IPv4 or IPv6?

Helpful to find out:

Working fine and redirected to www version :

$ curl -I seojobs.com
HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently
...
location: https://www.seojobs.com/

Working fine and redirected normally to HTTPS:

$ curl -I launchlemonade.app
HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently
...
location: https://launchlemonade.app/

mate, same story for me this morning, just launched launchlemonade.app and again the DNS PROBE

something’s really not right here. then after a few moments it works. It’s some DNS settings somewhere, but i really can’t figure out where, if it’s on HT, cloudflare or the domain’s settings, maybe they have misconfigured their dynamic DNS.

my website is hosted in the UK, and i personally set it up via cloudflare and works perfect all the time.

I am using ipv4 as HT connects you only on Ipv4 however i have Ipv6 support also enabled on the Fritz’s side but main is ipv4

are you on ipv6 and what provider in HR if i can ask?

Added to the router DNS or rather endpoint device like desktop PC, notebook, etc.?

Looking at peering at CIX.hr, HT doesn’t have it with Cloudflare, meaning you’re going a bit around via different route (not sure if that would have an impact here):

Try to disable IPv6. HT as far as I know doesn’t provide IPv6 to it’s customers yet.

IPv4, local one, MagicNET.

Settings added straight to the router in the Fritz’s settings. Nah the ipv6 doesn’t make any difference but might give slightly better connectivity. It must be something else.

Everything else perfectly works, it’s just these 2 websites which are of some people i know and one i work with, it’s my AI partner. That’s so bizarre man.

I had a look at that provider of yours, they have a 5gbit internet on optics, and so cheap 30€ a month. Suppose only in Zagreb? We get only HT optics here where we are at.

hello,

does anyone else have these issues with the DNS probe? HT (provider) is still looking since 2 weeks and hasn’t got back to me yet.
