DNS issues on Playstation

Hello,

I was having alot of difficulties with connecting my playstation to the 1.1.1.1 public DNS server.
Random disconnects, DNS errors, …
Using DNS server of other providers does not give any issue

I found one guy who had the exact same issues:
https://forum.netgate.com/topic/151814/cloudflare-dot-failure-on-playstation

Anyone else experiencing issues?

I am also having this problem on my ps4 ! I would like it to be resolved so I can download a couple of game updates !!

I temporarily changed my DNS settings to other DNS servers. Which fixed it. you could do the same.

I have the same problem. It seems to affect several different Playstation related URLs such as the one below:

 ~  dig @1.1.1.1 remoteplay.dl.playstation.net

I’ve got the same problem. Using your purge cache tool helps for a while but the domain entries for playstation.net reset to empty results shortly after.

Sorry you’re having issues with the domain, I’ll investigate.

For us, it has been wired connections through and ASUS router with Merlin firmware. IPv4 and IPv6 configured. Works then for an hour or so then disconnects.

Strange thing: even when using 1.1.1.1 as secondairy dns. I have the same time outs.
Completely reconfigured DNS on the ISP modem. seems to fix it for now.

Haven’t had any issues today. Seems to work again

FYI, I also had DNS problems with my PS4. Today (not sure when this started), I’m having problems with the DNS feature of Firefox using CloudFlare name servers. It looks like a more generic problem with CloudFlare name servers. Good luck
