DNS Failover question

How can I set up a single A record to go to multiple IP’s basically for failover situations?

Can I say in DNS
A Record vpn.mydomain.com = 1.1.1.1
A Record vpn.mydomain.com = 2.2.2.2

That way when the 1.1. 1.1 connection is down it automatically goes to the 2.2.2.2 connection or will everything just be confused.

That situation would just result in round-robin - roughly half of the users would go to the first IP, and half to the second (sometimes this isn’t entirely consistent).

If you want actual failover behavior, CF has a paid load balancing solution:

They also have Zero-Downtime Failover, which might be enough depending on the requirement.
