DNS Error 81053

Hey guys. new here. I have many domains on my cloud flare account and usually when I set the DNS records up for a new domain I am able to add a cname record with now issue. Except for this instance. I keep getting a (81053) error that read “An A, AAAA or CNAME record already exists with that host”

I have not done anything differently to what I would usually during set up and am a bit dumbfounded.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you post a screenshot of the record you are trying to add and also a screenshot of the records already there? You can blur out any IP addresses.

I had the same thing.
Search your DNS settings…mine had an ‘A’ record set for the ‘Name’ field to “www”
I deleted that, and set my new CNAME setting to - ‘Name’ = “www” and ‘Target’ = “the domain I was trying to point to” and that solved the problem.
