Trying to link web host to Cloudflare so I am able to use the domain purchased by a another domain provider (connected to cloudflare) for the website. I’m so lost!
DNS records
Get the DNS records from your web host, and follow the guide below to add them to your Cloudflare DNS.
I believe I have done that, but it says " This hostname is not covered by a certificate."
I added the 3 or 4 name servers and the single Server IP from the web host to “Name” and “IPv4” on the Cloudflare DNS Records page.
It sounds like your record is deeper than a subdomain (sub2.sub1.example.com). If it’s for web traffic, and you want a certificate, you’d need to leave it as 
DNS Only, or purchase ACM:
