DNS change but keeping godaddy nameservers

I have a hosting plan with godaddy and I actually work there too  I have a plan of web security which gives me security scans for malware, backups and an SSL. What I wanted to know is the following: I have just brought a package from you for CDN if i was to keep my nameservers with godaddy and just add the records you want me to add what will they be and how will it work as my SSL and firewall is through them. I want to be able to figure out any issues that may come with me using your CDN. As we are a charity we can not have much downtime. And if i was to change my nameservers to you would all the records be added automatically and would I need to switch off my firewall at godaddy as i persume the CDN package I have with you comes with one? So you would have to point my website back to the hosting IP as at the moment its pointing to my firewall IP

Welcome to the Cloudflare Community. :logodrop:

The use of external nameservers with Cloudflare requires a Partial CNAME Setup available on the Business or Enterprise plans.

Not necessarily. Cloudflare can attempt to scan your existing DNS for common names, but it will not find any names that are not on the list of names they scan for. It is also easy to clutter your DNS with garbage records if you have a wildcard entry in your DNS. I never use the automated scan. I find it more effective to add the records I need before changing nameservers at the registrar. Even if you use the automated scan, it is important to confirm that they are accurate and valid.

It is possible to import records into Cloudflare.

Thank you for yr swift response. Could you let me know regarding the last part of my questions about ssl and firewall?

Can you explain a little more clearly what your certificate and firewall question is?
