DNS - Can't receive emails, trying POP3 in Gmail

I’m trying to set up our email with POP3 in Gmail, using our Bluehost domain & email hosting, and Cloudflare. (Our site is hosted on Kinsta.) This led me to discover that the Bluehost webmail is unable to receive any emails (including Gmail verification email). It can send successfully.

All emails bounce back with this error:

The response from the remote server was:

550 Please turn on SMTP Authentication in your mail client. mail-qk1-f176.google.com [209.85.222.176]:38162 is not permitted to relay through this server without authentication.

Bluehost says everything on their side is correct, so it’s probably something I’ve done in Cloudflare.

DNS is not something I’m super familiar with, so please be gentle.

Many thanks!

That’s an issue with sending from your mail server, any outgoing connections or emails have nothing to do with CF. For your current issue you may need to add some DNS records: Help prevent spoofing and spam with SPF - Google Workspace Admin Help

Also, I highly recommend using the official Google solution Google Workspace instead of trying to do things like this.
