DNS - A Record Question

Hello Community!!

I bought a domain through Google Domains, the namespace records pointed to Cloudflare, and am using the Web Hosting service Blue Host. I was provided an ip address to create an A record to point it to Blue Host so I can add the domain there. I did this and waited over 12 hours and nothing happened and then I deleted it and re added it and now it has been roughly 14 hours but when I check DNS Checker - DNS Check Propagation Tool it still hasen’t updated to the correct ip that I have been provided. Am I supposed to keep the “Proxy Status” as proxied and keep the little cloud orange or am I supposed to change that to be “DNS only”? I really appreciate you taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing back from you

Thank you,
Seth

Hi @sethn,

The IP you see there is that of Cloudflare’s proxies - please see: Why does a DNS lookup on my domain not return the IP address I configured?

You could switch it to :grey: if the site is not working so you bypass Cloudflare and go directly to the IP you configured. Once it is all working, you can then go back to :orange:.

Thanks,

Will give that a try!
