Not understanding cost of transfering. When we transfer our DN to Cloudflare in November, are we immediately billed for the wholesale price, or does Cloudflare wait for the DN to expire at out old registrar? My DN expires at namecheap Jan 2019.
It would be a classic transfer*). You pay the transfer fee and your domain gets simultaneously renewed for one more year.
*) Classic as in “with most gtlds”. There are some TLDs where transfers are handled differently, but I guess Cloudflare wont cover them from the start.
