Hello Cloudflare Community,
I’m experiencing an issue with Zaraz in terms of billing and event counting. Currently, the event count is significantly higher than it should be.
For example, one site is showing over 4.7k page view events in the past 30 days, whereas the web analytics for the same site (without bot traffic filter) indicate only around 300 page views.
Could anyone provide assistance or insights into why this discrepancy might be occurring? This happens in different domains.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Can you check out your Traffic Analytics to see if any peak events might be associated with this? As well as Zaraz Monitoring?
Hi, thanks for your reply.
I embedded screenshots in the original post, but I guess it didn’t work. Here are the updated screenshots:

I think what is happening is that there are surges of bot traffic on those domains, and Zaraz is triggered for all bot visits. I tried to test my hypothesis by adding a filter to exclude both bot traffic in the Zaraz trigger, but there is no such filter.
You can almost never compare analytics across different tools as they simply work differently. Also, the Web Analytics metrics looks weird - it’s seems unreasonable that the number of Visits is identical to the number of Pageviews.
Regardless, this shouldn’t affect billing. You have 1,000,000 events fore free with Zaraz, so whether you have 300 currently or 4,700, you’re still a few orders of magnitude away from needing to pay anything.
Thank you for your reply, Yoav!
As mentioned in the original post, this issue occurs in many different domains; this domain is just one example out of many. I have already reached 80% of the 1,000,000 free events for this month, which is why I investigated the issue and found this discrepancy.
I would really appreciate your help in finding a solution or a workaround for this.
I think that a simple filter to exclude bot traffic in the Zaraz triggers would be a good start.
Oh okay, that’s great! Thanks for pointing me to the right setting; I missed it.
I will test the “botScoreThreshold”:29 setting on several of the problematic domains and report back after a few days if that solved the discrepancy.
Reporting back after a week, the setting definitely resolved the issue:
