What is the issue you’re encountering
TXT dkim record for email routing service cannot be removed
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
as per Disable Email Routing · Cloudflare Email Routing docs
Log in to the Cloudflare dashboard and select your account and domain.
Go to Email > Email Routing > Settings.
Select Start disabling > Delete and Disable. Email Routing will show you the list of records associated with your account that will be deleted.
Select Delete records. (this is not available)
What feature, service or problem is this related to?
Mail records
What are the steps to reproduce the issue?
Not sure but I suppose enable email routing service then remove the email routing service dns records
Leave that record with the selector cf2024-1 alone and create a new one with the selector you used in Google Workspace. The default is google (ie google._domainkey), but this can be customized.
If you’re adding the DKIM for any other provider, add a new record using the specific selector they gave you. There’s no need to edit the existing record.
Unlike SPF and DMARC, you can have multiple DKIM records (with different selectors, of course) if you have multiple mailers sending (and signing) messages on behalf of your domain.
Hello,
We already have setup multiple ones and have email working properly.
But as stated previously want to remove this one due to security concerns.
The cloudlfare interface does not allow us to remove the record at all.
Regards.
Re-enable and then disable Email Routing then. That’s the only way I’ve found to be able to delete or unlock this remnant record from the dashboard.
Yes, I’m aware that enabling Email Routing requires removing your existing MX and SPF records, which you’ll have to re-create. But I reckon this will be a far easier and faster route (5 mins tops) than opening a Cloudflare support ticket to have the record unlocked.
