Difficulty Adding new DNS Records to connect with Mailchimp

I am trying to authenticate my domain with mailchimp by setting up 2 new cName records. (Mailchimp info attached). I get the following error code: DNS Validation Error (Code: 1004) This record type cannot be proxied.

I’ve followed 2 separate youtube videos as to how to do this and as far I can see, I’m doing it correctly.

In DNS, I:
Add new record > set type to cName > (name) k2.domainkey (I have also tried with k2.domainkey.(my domain).com) > (target) dkim2.mcsv.net

Mailchimp support tell me they cannot help with other applications… I have another domain on another server, and that has authenticated. I’d appreciate any assistance. Thank you

Don’t proxy it and see if that works. Click the :orange: to switch it to :grey:

Thank you, that worked!!! Wht does it mean if it’s not proxied?

Thank you for that explanation. I presume the other levels of protection with a pro account will make up for the non-proxy…
