Difference between Free Site on Cloudflare and Argo Smart Routing and Tiered Caching

What are the benefits of subscribing to the Argo Smart Routing and Tiered Caching or running the site on Free Cloudflare?

Cloudflare usually sends your traffic over the internet when going from a datacenter halfway around the world to your origin server. Argo allows you to pay Cloudflare to send it over Cloudflare’s own cables to a better datacenter first, or if that’s not available for the specific network path, it will use a better, less-congested internet path to reduce latency.

Tiered caching means that if one datacenter doesn’t have the cache for image.png, it will ask a few other datacenters to see if they have image.png in their cache and will download it from that CF datacenter instead of going to your Origin server independently for each DC. This should reduce your origin’s bandwidth costs if you already have a fair (>50% or so) cache HIT ratio.

It costs money to do this interconnect so CF charges for bandwidth when you use it.
