Default document for pages

I deployed my first Pages project, a static web site. When I went to navigate to the site, I got a 404. The site would not resolve until I entered the full URL to the default document, default.html. Is there a way to set the default document in Pages?

index.html is what you should be using as per convention. This cannot be changed. I’d suggest renaming your default.html to index.html
