Database Error after enabling CloudFlare

Hi Cloudflare Community,

I have an issue with two sites that are hosted on MijnDomein.nl. To improve speed and security I enabled Cloudflare on both sites. I entered exactly the same DNS settings into the Cloudflare settings as were perviously set by hosting provider. However when loading the sites I get an error “Error Establishing a Database Connection”.

If I pause Cloudflare on the site (under Overview > Advanced Actions) the website works perfectly.
I contacted the hosting provider (MijnDomein) but they say the DNS settings are correct and don’t know what the issue is.

I hope you guys might know the cause of this error, thanks a lot!

Ensure that the domain isn’t used to connect to the database. If your DB resides on the same server, use localhost or 127.0.0.1 as database host. If you use your domain for it, Cloudflare will block all requests to unsupported ports.
