Custom nameserver proxied through Cloudflare

Hello,

I have a website using Cloudflare PRO plan with DomainA using serverA. And I decided to expand and create more website using DomainB with serverA.

I am using Namecheap for DomainA and DomainB and I created a custom nameserver on namecheap with DomainA pointing it to serverA origin IP called ns1.DomainA.net and ns2.DomainA.net

Then configuring DomainA dns at Cloudflare dashboard adding “a” record for ns1 and ns2 pointing it to serverA origin IP

  1. So the question here is that, after completing the configuration process above. Will using ns1.DomainA.net and ns2.DomainA.net nameserver for DomainB work? even though the nameserver is proxied through Cloudflare?

  2. Will DomainB get the same benefits and feature of DomainA Cloudflare PRO plan since the nameserver is proxied through Cloudflare and it is using DomainA as a nameserver

Please note for the website on DomainA. The nameserver for the website is unchanged and I am still using the same nameserver provided by Cloudflare.

The purpose of creating a custom nameserver on namecheap with DomainA is for the sole purpose of using it for DomainB nameserver

No, for a domain to work on Cloudflare, it needs to be active on Cloudflare and use the nameservers which were assigned to it. Plans are generally per domain.

Plus, your nameserver setup will only work if the two DNS entries are not proxied and Cloudflare won’t be involved here.
