Custom Hostnames connect root domain

We’re currently implementing your SSL for SaaS solution but struggle to connect root domains.

The documentation explains how to connect a subdomain, e.g. app[dot]example[dot]com (app CNAME john[dot]customers[dot]saasprovider[dot]com).

However, I’m unsure how to correctly connect root domains, e.g. example[dot]com, since many providers do not allow CNAME records on the root domain.

That’s the rub when it comes to apex hostnames. You’d have to be using DNS that supports CNAME flattening, like Cloudflare does. Sometimes known as ANAME records by other providers.
