What is the issue or error you’re encountering

Custom domains not working

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Hi,

I have added custom domains example.com and www.example.com (Replaced actual domains with example), but I can’t access the site.
I’m only able to access with cloudflare’s default example.pages.dev URL.
In the screenshot I also showed how my DNS records look like that have been automatically created when I added 2 custom domains within from cloudflare project’s Custom Domains tab.
Is there anything else should be done from my end to get this working?
Thanks in advance!

If you could provide your actual custom domain and <YOUR_SITE>.pages.dev subdomain, we could take a closer look and advise you accordingly.

Other than that, all I can do is point you to the official Cloudflare Pages custom domain mapping documentation:

Hi @GeorgeAppiah ,

Thanks for reply.
Actual domain is signizr.com

I also confirmed that both domains are pingable.

Both signizr.com and www.signizr.com take me to the following Cloudflare Zero Trust login page.

404 error in your case might be temporary until the CNAME type of the DNS record for your Pages project propagates and Universal SSL certificate get issued for it since you’ve lately connected your custom domain, and possibly due to the local device or DNS cache at your device or even ISP provider.

Can confirm, same from my side :+1:

Hi @GeorgeAppiah and @fritex ,

Thanks for your time on this.
I have Access policy enabled for this project, so it prompts for email address.

You reply gave me an idea to review Access policy settings and adding an actual domain as in the screenshot solved the issue.

Thank you for feedback.

May I ask shared screenshot, does apex * (wildcard) record work for your case (include all sub-domains for your Pages project(s)?) here as expected?

My approach is to rather specify which sub-domains I need to cover.

Hi,

Yes, wildcard record works for all subdomains.
I agree that it’s better to specify specific domain(s) instead of wildcard, but in my case, I’d prefer to do so for actual domains and leave wildcard for cloudflare’s URLs.
