Critical Error - recovery instructions say to contact host: you're the host

Critical error–no recovery mode on WordPress .COM sites

Site 1: Down completely
ISSUE 1: Recovery mode key email received; recovery mode doesn’t open.
ISSUE 2: Another recovery key email is not triggered for 24 hours.

Site 2: May be displaying, can’t access dashboard
ISSUE 1: Critical error; can’t access the dashboard
ISSUE: no recovery mode key email received. At all.

I know the cause: plug-ins are dreadfully out of date (I’m the new website maintenance kid)

Q1: Is there a way we can use two-step authentication to manually trigger a recovery mode key email when this happens?
Q2: I don’t understand all of the workaround options; I’ve been trying, but PHP is beyond me at this point. Help, please?

Thank you.
Jennifer

Unfortunately Cloudflare can’t help with this, your host or developer may be able to offer more assistance.

Cloudflare just proxies the connections to your host and does not host your WordPress. If you are concerned Cloudflare may be involved in the issues you can pause Cloudflare at the bottom right of the overview tab.

Thank you for your quick response. I have more work to do!
