What is the issue you’re encountering

I am trying to create a subdomain to send traffic to a specific URL. My website is www.backcountry.physio and I am trying to use vote.backcountry.physio to direct traffic to https://thebestofthesprings.com/voting/#/gallery/466797145 but I am running into problems. I can’t figure out how to make a valid subdomain. I really have no idea what I’m doing, I’m just going off what people have told me to try

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I was told to try an A subdomain, but it would not work when I entered my current IP address, stating it was invalid. I also tried to use a CNAME, because I see a different subdomain I have is in that format. It would not accept the URL that I am trying to point to.

First, you need a proxied DNS record. You can create an AAAA record with target 100::
This directs traffic to Cloudflare.

Then, you can create a redirect rule. You want something like “If hostname equals vote.backcountry.physio then static redirect to TARGET URL”.

If you don’t want to redirect to the bestofthesprings URL, the admin of that server needs to configure their server so that your subdomain show the site you want to see. The admin would also provide you with instructions for an A or CNAME record.
