Create sub-domain, SSL handshake failed Error code 525?

Hi

[Read - as .]

I’ve just added a CNAME record in order for pwa-oursite-com to redirect to oursite-com content but still have pwa-oursite-com display in the address bar:

Type: CNAME
Name: pwa
Target: oursite-com

When I enter pwa-oursite-com in the browser address bar, Cloudflare gives the error page:

“SSL handshake failed Error code 525

Does anyone know the correct way to do it so it keeps pwa-oursite-com in the address bar but still use oursite-com content?

Regards
Mark

Did you checked if you have had an valid SSL certificate covering your sub-domain too installed at your origin host/server?

May I ask what SSL option have you got selected under the SSL/TLS tab at Cloudflare dashboard for your domain ( Flexible, Full, Full Strict … )?

Regarding Cloudflare 525 error, may I ask which suggestions from below article for have you tried for further troubleshooting?

Thanks. It’s set as Full. I tried changing it to the Flexible but got:

HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.

And the registrar is Godaddy, hosting on a virtual machine at Azure.

And I see the Azure VM is set up with a free 3 month SSL certificate from letsencrypt dot org.

I don’t know if they allow sub-domains?
