Create a serverless redirect domain?

Is there any way to specify my domain name to point to another domain name, say, an S3 bucket?
I tried making a CNAME pointing to the publicly available bucket but apparently that is not allowed by the IETF, is there anything else I can do to create a redirect without running a web server with a redirect rule?
